The International Mining and Exploration Forum "MINEX 2005" took place in Moscow 6-7 October 2005.

The Forum was initiated by SRK Consulting - the international mining engineering consulting company.

The event was administered by Advantix Ltd - UK-based business communications consultancy working with Russia and CIS.

Russian event co-organisers:

Geoinformmark - the Information-Publishing Centre of the Russian Federation Ministry of Natural Resources

NBL Gold - company specializing in research and design works in the field of mining and processing of precious metals resources, gems and diamonds.

The forum became the biggest international event aimed at discussing development opportunities in the mineral resources of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (Former Soviet Union).

Over 350 people attended the forum. Amongst participants there were directors of mining and exploration companies, strategic investors, government representatives, Russian and international banks, consultants representing Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Western Europe, Africa, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan and US.

During two-days’ event over fifty presentations were made.

One of the biggest achievements of the forum was a thorough professional discussion of the potential of Russian mineral reserves as a base for development of Russian Regions and the future leading role of Russia in the global mining industry. Participants agreed that MINEX forum should become an annual event which should regularly address these issues.

At the final session of MINEX forum, participants agreed that Russia has a unique potential in just 15 years’ time to become a world’s leader in exploration and production of mineral resources. For Minex suggestions please refer to Power Point presentaion below.
